Talking 2013 380hp codes?

2013 tiffin 380hp, shutting down. Starts right back up , good for 10 min. then dies again. Low Coolant warning. Fill coolant , takes about 1 to 1 1/2 quarts then ok for awhile. Code 555 and 556?? That little a fluid level should not kill the motor but it does. Also losing fluid. No leaks and not in oil. Pulled plug and no water in pan. I guessing the oil cooler is leaking, but where does the fluid go?? Any input will be helpful, thanks, the leaking, but not lost Muffin Man.

IMO it's time for a cylinder compression check and cooling system pressure check.
Have you inspected the coolant lines for leaks to/from the dash heater core?

Coolant is going somewhere.

How long has it been doing this?
Do you smell coolant in the exhaust, usually if it is going into one of the cylinders you will smell it.

Have you checked transmission, on my rig the tranny cooler is internal to the radiator.

Do a pressure test on the cooling system. If it leaks down you got a problem. I would hesitate to run it in that condition.

EGR cooler.

Gotta do a pressure test of the coolant system.

Won't smell nor see with exhaust aftertreatment systems

I just did some looking into the 555 and 556 codes. If your lucky the crankcase filter is plugged up. If not a deeper investigation is required. Pull the oil filler cap off and run it with your hand over it at idle and see how much blow by it has for starters. I would also pull the intake pipe off to the turbo and inspect it for dust.

Unhappy

I should have said it just started on a trip to Tenn. Got to Chattanoga, pulled into the reststop. Called local Cummins Coach Care, road guy stopped, poked around, change the (I think ) big flat crankcase filter. Said I was ok. Tried to rive home to FL. Kept shutting down with red engine light. Restart and OK for another 10-20 miles. Made it to Atlanta, got to Coach Care in Atlanta. They could find nothing but low coolant, said to do cyl. pressure check and intercooler(?). Filled with antifreeze. Drove hon=me 200 miles, stopped to put antifreeze in 3 times. Dropped of at local shop to let them try. The annoying thing is the tech in Chat. said had a number on low coolant alarms, but never looked at the coolant level. After screwing my out of $900, I managed to get home. Atlanta CC was Fine , Chat. CC sucked, as far as I am concerned. I should have payed more attention to water levels, I usually check oil and tires every day, now another check item, All my fault. Have a good Mem. Day.!
