6BT lift pump install tech tip
I installed a new lift pump yesterday on my 94 5.9L 6BT.
This is the older mechanical pump that supplys the injection pump.
I read that it is time saver to buy studs instead of bolting it back on to the block. My local hardware has a 4 inch long piece of all thread.
The threads are METRIC 8M x 1.?? thread. (Sorry I didn't pay attenetion at the hardware.)
A 2 inch long stud works just fine and yes they are a time saver..
If you buy the NAPA fuel pump you will need a pipe bushing so you are likely to be going to the hardware anyway.
