Chassis = 8.9 L Computer indicates it’s 8.3

Replaced second turbo actuator within 14 months. Cummins has upgraded with all new electronics due to large number of failures. When the mechanic connected the software to the engine , it shows the engine as an 8.3 . Why does my Tiffin chassis paperwork show 8.9 425 HP . and the actual engine software show an 8.3 ?
Thanks,
Cannonball

All Cummins engines have serial number. On the valve cover or passengers side of the block will be the engine serial number and engine size. You can call Cummins with serial number and they will also tell you the engine size. Cummins stop making the 8.3 engine around 2014 or 15. What year is your Tiffin? Which chassis do you have?

Looks like it should be the ISL.

My engine serial no. is 46835967 . Does any one know how to look up and verify the engine size by using the serial no. ?
Thanks,
Cannonball

it is probably just in the software labeling on cummins insite program the 8.9 is a member of the 8.3 family as they share a lot of the same componets the biggest difference being the bore and stroke of the 8.9

You can register on the Cummins Quick Serve sight. To get info on your engine.

The engine data plate will have a CPL number, that +serial # are the important numbers to have when you phone Cummins directly or online at Cummins quickserve. That CPL number shows exactly which component is installed on your engine, including its displacement, bore and stroke, etc.
