Check engine light on Cummins 425

We traveled to Az for the winter, when I shut down everything was ok, now when I start it the check engine light comes on. It's a cummins 425 diesel. Any suggestions???

Have it checked. Could be nothing, could be something, but unless you have a way of reading the codes, you won't know so just have it checked. There's a Cummins Coach Care facility in Avondale (Phoneix) Arizona.

If you're worried about driving it or don't want the hassle of having it towed, you could check the internet for mobile techs in your area. Let them know you need the code read so they can get the reader (some auto parts stores loan them).

Good luck! It's probably nothing important.

Go to wallyworld, buy the code reader for less than a service call, then decide what to do. You do have a towd, don't you? You can be the hit of the campground, if you have your own code reader.

Could be as simple as low coolant level in the radiator tank. There are dozens of things that can cause a Check Engine code - you need to get the diagnostic code read out to see what it is.

Hi Sparkee,
Do you have a engine fault code? If so, what is the code? If you have a code, go to http://www.diesel-service-parts.com/isc-codes.html . My assumption is you have an ISL engine. The URL give all the code definition for an ISL.
