Codes

The ISL425 is showing a few codes.
CODE 1883 Inactive. After treatment Diesel Particulate Filter differential pressure sensor- data erratic. Intermittent or incorrect.

CODE 2555 Inactive. Exhaust intake air heater 1 circuit- voltage above normal

CODE 2387 Inactive. VGT actuator driver circuit (motor)- Mechanical system not responding or out of adjustment.

Do i ignore the inactive codes? Are any of these concerning so that I should head to Cummins before my next trip?

TIA
JJ

I would say without complete info ( number of starts since set ) you can just ignore them .

A code becomes inactive , after the Cummins ECM doesn't see the issue repeated for a set number of engine start ups . Dodge Cummins the number was over 200 starts . Unless your code reader won't clear the codes , I'd say wait till your at a Cummins shop for something else and have them cleared there. Don't make a special $$ trip.

Cool. I can clear them and keep an eye on it. Need to take the rig to Cummins in ABQ for a Chassis check up anyway.

Codes

You may want to check on QuickServ about the VGT code. My ISL has a TRP for the actuator that they can only be serviced by Cummins if it throws a code. I would check this out before clearing that code.

Update. I had Cummins check the coach out. They tell my that (as best as i can understand) the injector in #6 is not operating properly. They can hear a knock. They need to put the cover and take a look at the injector. Replace it, and replace the other 5 injectors if they are original. They say there were several different injectors used in this engine and they won’t know which ones i have until the pull the cover.

Something about the heat build up from the cylinder related to the injector that could effect the DPF and other components down stream.

Not sure how this relates to any of the codes, but this is all above my pay grade.

Speaking of codes…. My ISB 6.7 340 hp threw a code: 3226 20
Also says inactive
So… that means the ECM isn’t seeing the problem anymore?

How do I clear the code?

How are you guys checking codes? I bought an adapter to go from the green port on the RV to an OBDII blue tooth code reader. I can connect to it, but I have not be able to find an app that will read the Cummins codes.

I have a Bullydog tuner/monitor. Reads engine performance, can change tune modes and reads engine codes. Bullydog.com

Jake21 “ VGT actuator driver circuit (motor)- Mechanical system not responding or out of adjustment.”

Your VGT may be what powers your engine brake, ask to be sure.
