Thank you for the links Roger. I found it very interesting this link states the use of synthetic oil " Should NOT BE USED to extend oil drain intervals." It further states "Oil analysis, as a method to extend drain intervals, is NOT recommended."

ISL400 Fuel / Water Separator Location

Have a 2008 Fleetwood Revolution LE42N coach with a Cummins ISL400.

Need to know where to drain the water from the fuel filter. I guess which filter is the fuel/water separator? I assume it would have a petcock of some sorts at the bottom?

On my picture, is this it?

On the bottom of the filter there is a place to attach the wiring but also another knob which you can turn and drain the water.

Here is a better picture of a filter with your number on it.

This is a normal response by Most engine manufacturers on the subject of oil drain intervals. Leave the risk to the End User. Can't say I would be any different if I were in their shoes.

Thanks for the response! I assumed that was the place to drain it but wanted to be sure.

This forum sure helps us knuckle-heads!!

ok - how does a DP rookie and first time cummins owner identify exactly which engine he has ?

This is all I have from the datacard and that rear radiator sorta hides any view of the engine !!! I know it's red

I'm guessing this is your engine:

http://cumminsengines.com/showcase-i...s=100#overview

If you do not have DEF then your engine was build prior to 1/1/2010 and this is your engine.

Thanks Steve...
so in a 2011 we have a 2007 engine - oh wait - that's EPA regs 2007 you mean... ok, so probably 2010 which is fine...

it bothers me when I have to say "I dunno" and shrug my shoulders

We don't have a def tank that I can find... but again - still learning this thing - so far it keeps just working, so we just keep camping !
