Is it possible to just vent it to the atmosphere?

I don’t know if my ISL CM850 has the same crankcase ventilation system…..

jdw1, your engine, same as mine, has a different crankcase breather setup. It vents to the atmosphere via a ˝” hard plastic tube that ends by the lower part of block, between the block and starter, out of view. Sometimes a drop of oil, or oil fumes, will exit tube, keep the side of the block and the starter nasty.

There is a tiny filter inside the Enviroguard replaceable housing that doesn’t do much. It can be removed and cleaned with parts cleaner.

In the last picture, the big rubber hose coming out of the breather replaced the original ˝” plastic tube. That rubber hose goes to a Jaz catch can, to keep my engine clean.

Happycarz: Wondering where you mounted the JAZ catch can? Thanks

Sorry, been away for a few days.

I mounted on jack bracketwith the hose from the valve cover to the Jaz can, going downhill all the way with no sags in it to prevent any puddling.

Happycarz - No worries! Makes perfect sense. I'll have to crawl under mind & see where I can mount it. We don't have jacks - so will have to figure another option. "Downhill all the way . . ." is the ticket. Thanks again!

I would much rather run an engine at the "add oil' mark instead of over full. Same for A/T's.
