Cummins ISM500 Air Cleaner/Filter Part Number

Need help finding the part number for an air cleaner/filter for a 2005 Cummins ISM500 engine. I have a post already on the Travel Supreme forum asking fellow owners the same question. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Have you tried contacting Cummins or Spartan (not sure) with your VIN # and asking them?

You can look at https://www.rvchassisparts.com:8443/...is/runApp?id=5 they have measurements for the filters. Maybe you can measure if accessible.

Have a 04 Essex with 500 ISM on Spartan chassis and switched to a AFE/K&N air filter 10 years ago a over 100K miles and have saved a lot on air filter and pick up a little boost pressure. Another choice.

AFE filter

My 500 ISM takes aan AFE filter. X2 on the quality.
You will need the exact AFE #, I just cleaned mine and will post the part # after I look it up tomorrow.
No dust after 10k mi.

I know this does not answer the question directly, but if you open up and remove your filter there should be some numbers printed on it. Write those down and maybe some approx measurements and then search in computer for replacement.

This is a little off the topic but has anyone had a filter minder that isn't working right? I changed my filter last year and now this year the minder reads to replace. I have removed the filter and it looks just the same as when I put it on. I have in the past changed filters about every 5 years.

At both Cummins and Spartan seminars at FMCA Rallies they are recommending paper air filter being replaced ever year. There has been turbo damage done on Cummins engines with paper air filter coming apart. It appears the more water that gets into air filter there is a higher % that the glue that holds air filter together comes apart. This would be another reason to use a AFE/K&N air filter. I replaced our air filter restriction gauge thinking that was the reason for reading in the read and it still went to red for filter replacement.

Look at the Eco/Ecolite filters and look at the length/diameter and inlet/outlet size. You should be able to match up with what you have now.

Get your engine serial number and go to the Cummins Insite site. Register your engine and you can find everything you want about it.

Yes, the Chassis builder or coach builder is responsible for choice of air filter. Cummins supplies them with air flow requirements.

Hmm. Face palm. I don't know. Thought they would have a recommended one. My owners manual has the part number.
