Cummins shop in NJ

Weíre looking for a good shop where they will not just throw parts at a check engine code. I have a local shop but they really arenít set up for RVís.

Almost completing our 6,000 mile cross country trip we are getting a check engine and temporary loss of power. Inactive code is 2387. It seems like it started when temps would rise (maybe regen) and then the coach would hesitate for a moment. Once it said stop engine so I had the codes pulled. Iíd like to avoid the whole Ďyou need a new turboí if it is something simpler.

We have a 2008 Damon with an ISL 425. 48k miles. It is new to us however I didnít have any issues for most of these miles with tanks at 2/3ís and pulling a Wrangler. I let it warm up before rolling and let it cool down before shutting down.

Well, Code 2387 is the turbo actuator motor not responding-mechnically.

With that being said, it a problem with carbon build-up inside the turbo or bent fins?

Or, is it an electrical problem with the turbo actuator module, or maybe a specific sensor, that receives the commands (for greater air) from the Engine Control Unit?

I would insist the shop check the turbo actuator first before before they remove and dismantle the turbo.

Get back to us and let us know how you made out.

Have you checked your serial number on Cummins QuickServ? There is a TRP for my motor on the turbo actuator, such that if it occurs Cummins will repair.

ISL, but itís definitely worth checking QuickServ to see if there are any campaigns or TRPís on your motor.

I'm good at the moment....the only Campaign so far on my ISC was the SCR Cannister which has already been replaced by Cummins.

The shop in Kearney is rated well. The area that the shop is in is not great. i have no first hand knowledge of their workmanship, just what I have heard. Stan
