Used them but the operators wouldn't check them often enough on bad days.

If the wind was favorable, the filters lasted weeks. You get that one day with the right wind and the filters plugged up in hours.

Wow, that's a great story twinboat. It's amazing how rubber hoses will collapse and kink like that.

I've seen reports of dirt-laden filters being sucked into the turbochargers and allowing filter parts and dirt into the engine.

The stuff that makes nightmares.

Fortunately, we RVers usually don't operate in such bad conditions. However, I bet a few hours of travel in a good dust storm could be a problem.
