Fleetguard LF3000 or LF9009

Which filter do you use? My Monaco manual lists Fleetguard LF3000 for the oil filter but looking under my motorhome it has a fleet guard LF9009 that was installed by Speedco last year. Upon searching I find that the LF9009 is constructed differently and is warranted for 20K miles and the LF3000 is a paper media filter. just wondering which one others are using, the price between the two is only a $1.00 on Amazon.

The LF9009 is a 2 stage filter, has a full flow and bypass media. Not sure what year engine you have, but the 9009 will work on anything that used the 3000
I recently cut one open for demonstration purposes....

Cummins/Fleetguard has come out with an even better filter than the LF9009.

It is the LF14009NN and you can find the literature Cummins published about the upgrade on www.cumminsfiltration.com or just Google "LF9009 vs LF14009NN"

I was able to find the LF14009NN on the net for about $55.00 bucks delivered.

Good find! Amazon has them for just over $30... Hard to beat that price!

I donít trust purchasing my filter from Amazon. Too many Chinese knock-offs and several reviews noted the print on the filter isnít correct. I just wait for Cummins to have a sale, like a couple of weeks ago, and but directly from them.

I always buy on Amazon, easy to see that they are authentic. Amazon (unlike eBay) carefully monitors sellers and their products to ensure that frauds are infrequent.

So how do you know when Cummins has a sale? I do buy directly from them too, so that's an option, for sure.

I get an email. Last one was MLK Day, 15% off of an order.

Filter

M.O.T typically uses the Napa Gold. Good filter. Not sure of price.

I have had good success buying filters off amazon, But they are the big shop large quantity packaging just a protective plastic. Some shop buys the big quantity and resells it. The filters I buy I also bought them at a cumming service center and they have same packaging.
