I have one on my 2008 6.7L Cummins installed on the engine oil pan. Has anyone really really looked at the design of this valve and the actuation mechanize ?

First you must push the lever in against the spring and then rotate it against the detente to actuate the valve to open and drain.

I for the life of me can not picture anyway that a user of motor home or for that mater a pick-up truck that will activate this valve to open when trying to position a camper in a travel park.

Now going off roading this might happen after a larger limb took out front cross member; 4X4 pumpkin and the engine oil pan; the valve may leak. In all my years of using this valve I have never had an issue with the valve trying to open on itself.

I also purchased a 5 gallon oil drain pan from Wal-Mart and cut out the center of the pan to allow for the oil to drain in the plastic pan easier.

I was wondering the same thing since you have to raise the lever against the spring and then turn it. I have used one since 2000 and have never had a problem with them. I guess a road gator if it hit it just right might open it but I wouldn't be surprised if it ripped it out first. Makes it much easier to take oil samples as well.
