Thx all!
Good for you. How long it take you to swap it out? We're they watching you work on it?

It is kinda hid beneath a wire bundle but the red and black wires make it easy to identify. It is about 4" long and 3/8" in diameter. On my ISC when I open the engine access door in the bedroom and lay down on the floor it is visible and accessible, if you have long arms!

Thanks for the info. Every day something else to look forward to.

Rving in a DP MH is the most expensive method, and IMO the most convenient.

I am in the process of installing a FASS on my rig and crawled up under the engine on Friday to scope out bypassing the lift pump.

I believe I saw the suppressor as pictured in the previous post mounted on the side of the engine below the CAPS. It caught my eye because it was discolored from heat.

I guess I should consider buying one to keep.

I took a picture of my suppressor while I was under the coach today. It is located above the starter toward the front of the engine, below the ECM

Fuel injection control valve replacement

Where did you find the installation instructions? I purchased the fuel distributor kit and surge suppressor because my local shop said it would be some time in June before he could work on it. I was told I could do this myself but I'm having a hard time finding detailed information. Thanks, Eddie

Your best source for information is the Cummins Quickservce site.

https://quickserve.cummins.com/info/index.html
Once you create and account and register your engine there is a lot on info there.
I downloaded a complete maintenance manual for my coach that has troubleshooting tips and R&R information. You can also download schematics of parts pages including the injector pump, which is helpful when trying figure out how it goes together.

There is a post by Jerrylook that might be helpful, he goes through the whole troubleshooting process and R&R for what you are asking for. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/eng...526808-18.html

Good evening all
I have three questions:
1- What is CAPS
2- What is an ICV
3- Will an extended warranty cover all of these repairs

Best

1- Cummins accumulator pump system (fuel injection pump)

2- Injection control valve (part of the fuel injection pump)

3- I’m not sure.

This system was only offered for a short time. I think from 1998-2003/4. Correct me if I’m wrong on those dates guys.

Prior to the Caps the 8.3 had a mechanical injection pump, and after the Caps they switched to common rail.
