Is this my oil sending unit for the dash gauge?

Hi all. My oil pressure gauge in my dash has been acting funny. After a couple hours of driving at high speed the gauge will drop to below normal oil pressure. I want to replace the sending unit. Is this it? Can I just get a new one, unplug the old one, screw it out, and install the new one? Or is their programming that will be involved.

Sure looks like one... You should not have to reprogram anything.

Try unplugging the wiring first and re-attaching it. Could just be a bad connection.

Send a message via Yahoo to jdoc
Also, while you have the connector off look at it and at the sending unit to see if there is any corrosion either inside the connector or on the sending unit.

Well...that was not the oil sending unit. I started unplugging wires until I found it. It was located right on top of the oil filter housing (FYI ISB 275). There is only one wire running to it. I unbolted the wire, cleaned up both sides of the connector, and put it back together. It really didn't look too bad. Just a little bit of green corrosion on the very outside part of the ring. I put it back together. Need to find time for a test drive now.
