Isb 5.9 24v #53

I have 2000 kountrystar 57000 mi block crack 3 years ago tried a patch but didn't work out anyone have any luck gettin cummins help pay for replacement.

No, Cummins will not buy you a new engine. This is a known issue for Dodge pick-up trucks of that vintage. In fact the first generation pick-up trucks had an issue called the "Killer Dowel Pin". Cummins never bought back any engines on them either.
Here is a PDF booklet that should till you what to look for on a Cummins 5.9L B series engine. I know it is geared to the Dodge Ram pick-up truck but will answer a lot of questions on the engine also.

A repair not for the faint of heart. You start by having the casting crack "stitched". An old process of drilling a series of holes and threading them to install overlapping steel screws beginning before the crack and continuing past the end of the crack. The above suggests you can install the reinforcment plate without repairing the crack. As they say, "your mileage may vary...."
