Not sure what MH you are working on but study the belt routing before taking it off. Always install the belt on all the grooved pulley faces first and slide the belt over the smooth pulley face last. I use a very long breaker bar to turn the tensioner and hold it in place secured with a strong piece of wire to some overhead point.
