Congrats on the 2003 Alpine 36 MDDS. Didn't sound too bad on repair costs. Now you have to share some pics of other than dirty motor.
I don't want to scare you but ,You should be watchful and proactive of lift pump gasket leaks due to ULSD fuel ,air can enter when pump stops 30 seconds and runs on suction. I believe you have CAPS injector pump ,air can cause damage to CAPS pump. If some may have caught early it may save them a lot of money. The Airdog or Fass fuel pump system is used to prevent CAPS pump issues.
Edit.. a thread a couple down showing install Fass system. You don't have to be as good or equipped as ZMOTORSPORTS he has 47 min vid that will explain everything.

The repair cost was estimated prior to purchase of the coach. The actual cost turned out slightly less than budgeted, so we are good with that part.
I am planning on going with a FASS install. I have read enough about the lift pumps to know not to trust that system.
I read the install that Alpine36 did in his Alpine and will I plan to install similar to his system. Since my coach is very similar to Alpine36, I can do it very close to that.

If you didn't find the thread with vid. I like what he did with the one extra filter he saved and pump near for short return line. Every coach is different. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f123/fas...ty-529299.html

Had mine done just over a year ago
VALVE COVER GASKET 79.72
SEAL O RING 18.08
CV ELEMENT 169.251
BAFFLE BREATHER 28.69
Misc $45
Labour $570 (shop rate $100 per hour)
Total before tax $911 CAD after tax $1029
I paid a $100 deductible and extended warranty paid the rest. However I also had to pay for shipping as the extended warranty doesn't cover it.

It a nice rural shop, family business and owns/maintains a fleet of school buses as well. Labour rate has been $100 CAD per hour for the last few years, expect it to change every year but still the same. Shops in Ottawa (40 min away) charge more ($150 plus) and some have a MH surcharge on top of that.
