ISL reman cost

Was doing my taxes and came across my receipt for repowering my DP, the rig is a 2008 but believe the engine is a 2006 400 HP ISL. This was in July 2020.

For a factory reman with 2 year warranty, parts and labor out-the-door came out to $45,346.53.

They estimated $43,680 to rebuild my core at the shop. Not enough room under there to do an in-frame rebuild, woulda had to drop the engine either way.

They charged me $23,970.09 for the engine. There were some incentives going on at the time; suffice to say I don't think the list price is a very hard number. Could have gotten closer to 20K with a third party reman, although Cummins has some nice guarantees and doesn't charge shipping.

I mention this in case anyone is interested, and also because in some other posts I mis-recalled the actual price.

Cause of failure was a blown turbo.

I believe it, Cummins quoted $10K to replace my injector pump. As you said, we're buying quality and a good warranty too.
