ISM with coolant in the turbo charger

07 Essex with coolant in the turbo charger and I am loosing coolant. Currently at Cummins. Turbo charger was pressure checked and Cummins said it had a leak so I took to a turbo repair shop and it pressure tested fine., EGR cooler was pressure checked and is ok and cooling system was pressure checked and ok. Not sure where to go from here. Not sure who is correct about the Turbo chrger.

How many miles on the coach?
If your turbo is off, I would consider having it rebuilt or replaced. A large part of the cost is removing and replacing it and I would not want to take any chances.
Having said that, the ISM has been know to have EGR cooler issues.

This is a link to a previous ISM thread with a coolant leak. Hopefully yours is not this serious.

So Cummins says you have a leak and independent repair shop says you don't have a leak.

But you are getting coolant in the turbo...right?

Perhaps you need to go back to Cummins and let them do the repair (if their repair doesn't fix the problem you can withhold payment or have them do a warranty repair. By going to independent shop, your giving both shops a way to point the finger at the other.

Maybe independent shop did not test turbo when it was hot (could be that the turbo needs to heat up for "crack" to expand).

I'm assuming the coolant was found on the intake (compressor side) of the turbo.

How did you determine coolant was in turbo? What event started this?
Do you see smoke at tailpipe, engine warning light, or did you pull off intake plumbing to investigate a coolant loss and see coolant puddled in the turbo?

Your 2007 engine should be the CM870 series (2002-2007).
