Glad to hear it's operating well. Just to review one thing....is the 600hp engine of 2016 year NOT in the problem years? That was a different valve design wasn't it?

Yes, the newer engine is a SOHC rather than the older DOHC like I have. I believe the change came in 2010.

My neighbor in the 'storage' facility is selling his 2014 Entegra Cornerstone with a 600hp engine. He said he has 16,000 miles and starts it once a month and lets it run for 45 minutes. I was wondering if he was in the 'danger zone' but Mr. D says after 2010 seem to be OK.

Mr. D, glad that you have it finally fixed and you certainly didn't deserve to pay R & D for Cummins.

Safe travels,
Mark

Thanks for the update, and glad it's been smooth sailing for you for awhile! (Well, except stuck in the mud awhile back!)...

Be good, have fun,
Smitty

Well Smitty, I'm back in the same friends sideyard but now has 6" of gravel on it. However I'm still sinking in! ( about 4"). This time I know what to expect and will back up and throw some more rock in the hole.

Now if Cummins would reimburse me the $53,000 I've spent doing their R&D testing for them!!

BTW: Cummins is helping with some ISX 650 repairs but requiring a non-disclosure to be signed which is why this isn't well known. Fortunately they never asked me to sign one.

I have put over 23,000 miles on our rebuild ISX650 and other than replacing the turbo (can happen to any coach) the engine hasnít missed a beat. It pulls hard and runs strong.

I do believe Cummins should be paying for these repairs and the engine was mis-engineered but, the fix works and I am confident I could drive this coach anywhere I wanted to go!

ISX problems again?

I would have to see some evidence of this as I find it highly unlikely.

I know it's true because I know of two cases myself.
BTW: hard to find evidence when they can't tall about it publically.

I can tell you that my 650 rebuild had a non disclosure signed and would not be released to me unless i either signed it or paid the entire bill. I know of a few others as well. Totally truthful.
