The Low Engine Coolant Warning Light/Buzzer activates intermittetly on my 98 HR Endeavor - 5.9 Cummins. The alarm will stay on for a couple of minutes then go off for a while and then acivates again. A check of the reserve tank shows the level is okay and everything looks fine inside the rad when she's cooled down. At first I expected the engine temp to rise but the Coolant Temp Gauge on the dash stays in the normal range. Any suggestions ??

Does the light come on when you are going around a corner, straight away or just sitting. If its on a corner then I would try to add a bit more to your reserve tank. Your sensor might also be going bad.

Are you determining the coolant level is correct by using the sight glass in the recovery tank? If so, try opening the recovery tank and putting a solid object (stick, coat hanger, etc.) into the tank to get an accurate measurement. Sometimes the sight glass looks like there is coolant at that level, but there is no coolant there.

As Poltax posted, it can't hurt to add some coolant to the recovery tank.
