"New to me" coach Question

Hello all,
On Saturday I bring home my new to me coach that has a 08 ISL 400hp in it.
I know it has been sitting for quite some time, and only has a 1/4 of fuel in it.
I'm having the dealership do a complete service with fuel filters before I pick it, but my question is... while i'm filling it up for the ride 350 mile ride home, should I run a fuel system/injector cleaner thought it on the drive home?

Any thoughts and recommendations are much appreciated.

Steve

Since it has been sitting for a long time in a hot climate, the fuel may very well have algae in it. I would treat it with Bio-Kleen as you fuel up, and add the appropriate amount of Diesel-Kleen to clean and lube the injectors.

And if it did have algae in it, after this, prepare to replace the fuel filters....again.

I like JF Biobor. Carry a few extra fuel filters. I just use the maintenance dose, not the shock dose. Good luck, and keep the tank full from now on.

Hopefully the generator has had the fuel filter replaced as well. Not a difficult job but those things don't get a lot of fuel run through them normally and can plug way before the normal change out time and put some strain on the fuel pump.

It was running when I did my first viewing.
And when I paid to have the full maintenance done I asked them to make sure the generator was done at the same time. I’ll have to verify when I get there next week

Might want to verify now so they have time to do it if needed.

Probably too late for the OP(?). But I also agree with dwkerch that Bio-Kleen is the way to go on an uncertain tank of fuel. Go top off the tank to get as much fresh diesel fuel in as possible, while adding the mentioned Bio-Kleen. They have a maintenance like product, and the also have a 'Oh heck, I really have a mess!' product. And have a good website on which to use in which case. Sometimes 'spiking' the tank is needed for heavier 'crud' build up!

I'm also a fan of once a year buying enough cans of SeaFoam to run thru a tank, and it's about the only time I purposely get down to about a 1/4 of a tank!

Best of luck to you on the new coach,
Smitty
