Oil capacity, 2017 ISB 6.7

I now have a 2017 Allegro Red 33AA with the Cummins 6.7. I have been told, by Freightliner that this could hold anywhere from 12 to 16 quarts of oil, maybe more. Anyone else have one if these and know the actual capacity?

My 2013 ISB 6.7 manual lists 2 different oil pans
Std total system = 17.6 qts
High capacity total system = 20.8 qts

Oil pan only about 3 qts less.
Last few annual services I was charged for 19 qts from a highly trusted shop.

Sent from my SM-T387V using iRV2 - RV Forum mobile app

If you know your engine serial #, you can double check with Cummins which pan they used: care@cummins.com or 1-800-CUMMINS (1-800-286-6467).

Lowflyer1 - thx for the contact info. Cummins promptly answered and sent me a file saying it could be 16 to 20 qts. Of oil depending on the oil pan. Gee, I think I already knew that. So, gesso buy 5 gallons of oil and see how much it takes.

That's odd. By the engine serial #, they know exactly how they built the engine and how much it takes.
I got a prompt reply that my engine has the std pan, 28qt.

You should be receiving a survey from the director at Cummins Care (at least I did) and can provide appropriate feedback.

If you go to Cummins Quickserve and use your engine serial number and go to parts and type in oil pan you will get the part number. You can then look it up online. I understand some pan capacities are listed on Quick Serve. Mine wasn't but I was able to find it on several 3rd party sites once I had the part number. You may already know all of this, but just in case.....

I also have the ISB6.7 and mine is 15 quarts. But definitely suggest you look up your specific serial number to verify.

Never heard anything back from Cummins, so I’ll work with what I have. Trial and error and hope it’s not more than 16 quarts as that is the drain pan size I gave.

I think you should be prepared for a little more than 16. A 5 gal bucket should fit under it and contain the oil nicely. I always buy five gallons and have a partial jug left over. When I drain into a 5 gal bucket, there is a little ofer an inch of room left in it. Wish I could remember the exact number of quarts but I don't approach it that way.

Just got off the Quickserve site and got the p/n for the oil pan. Then searched that and found that it is rated at 13 qts low and 15 qts high. So, with a 1 qt oil filter, looking at 16 qts, thereabouts. The 5 gallon bucket takes all the mystery out it . Thx for the hep,
Mike

I would try again with Cummins. They know how they built your engine by the serial #. If you get the same lazy guy's generic response, I would call.

The free on-line version of QuickServe has generic info covering multiple products (including marine) although they require the serial # to register.

I don't know how but the previous owner on mine had gotten info that my engine holds 32 qt. He said the toad got sprayed with oil, so had to keep the level lower than full on the dipstick.
When I put the 28 qt, it was right at the full mark (after running the engine). So the dipstick is right on in my case although that may not be true for all.

You must have the same pan is mine. That is exactly what I do (16).

I also have the ISB6.7 in our 2020 RED 37BA.
Was on the phone today with FCCC 24/7 and asked if he could check which oil pan my engine had. He said he certainly could. Turns out I have the standard capacity oil pan, for a total system capacity of 18 quarts. So, I have the 15 quart pan.

Finally confirmed today that I also have an 18 quart engine. 2 emails and 3 calls to get this data.

If you go to.www.cumminsquickserve.com and register your Engine Serial Number, you can find out anything you want about your particular engine.

It also provides you with the owners manual, maintenace, repair and troubleshooting manuals, and parts schematics with diagrams as well.

All at no cost.
