Oil Change $800
I bring my own filter, Oil, fuel and water separator
My local Cummins shop quoted me $800 for a oil change and a lube.
I went to my local Peterbuilt Shop and got all for $350.

Sounds like the Cummins shop either included the filters and oil or did not want to do it. $350 for labor only, seems like going price. Pays to shop around.

Fortunately I can still do the service myself..
When I first bought my rig it came with no service records. I wanted to have it inspected so I took it to a Cummins shop. Cost me $650 but the did a complete service and inspection, downloaded my ECM information to a CD and gave me a printed copy, and fixed a couple minor things.
More then anything is that when they were done the Manager went over everything with me and said my rig was "Cherry" and I got a heck of a deal. So this was "Priceless" to me.

Ouch. Did oil go up that much? All kidding aside, my local Cummins shop does not seem to want to do RV work either. Had them give me an estimate one time for a manifold gasket replacement and they were way higher than another shop. Now just buy filters from them only when I have too.

Cummins Coach Care in Houston is also very high priced! For my annual oil change I used the Lube Zone location in Brookshire, TX. Their current prices is ~$350 for oil, oil filter, chassis lube, top off other fluids, etc. This price is "up" from ~$285 last August 2021 due to the ever increasing price of crude oil (which is passed through to us consumers in higher priced engine oils).
The Lube Zone in Brookshire uses "bulk" conventional Rotello or Shell 15W-40 engine oils (customer preference on which to use).

Did the $350 include a new air filter? That sounds like 2 hours at $175/hr. It shouldn’t be a 2 hour job. I’ve done the same thing at a local shop and I’m out the door for $135-150 on our ISl. Add $50 for the generator.

Cummins does not want to be a lube shop. They only want engine and warranty work. I would have a hard time trusting them with engine work...it's hit or miss these days.

I agree, I only called them because my private diesel mechanic retired in January. They were the closest to me. I miss my guy.
He did what I did this winter he retired after 44 yrs.
I miss him, here he is checking everything

Could be that they didn't like the idea of you bringing your own stuff and priced it that high to let you know they weren't interested.
