Power loss
Near Williams, Az, today stopped for break, when I restarted engine and hit the road noticed immediate lack of response and power. Also check engine light came on. 2007 Cummins ISL 8.9, 400 hp, has diesel particulate filter but not def) I changed both fuel filters, but that didn’t help. I can run on road around 40 mph. I’m showing boost up to around 28,that makes me think the turbo is working. Oil pressure, engine and transmission temps staying within range. If the fuel filters needed changing could they have thrown a code and put engine in a limp mode, possibly a code needs clearing? Any ideas? Also does anyone know any diesel mechanics in this area?

2007 came with a LBCU - get your freightliner manual out and figure how to get the code.
Key must be on, engine running, in neutral and parking brake set.

Freightliner Code Reading
On the dash you should be able to read the code as mentioned above. For me it is simple (ish).
Key in run position, Transmission in N, Parking Brake set.
Using the toggle switch, hold right for 3 seconds, scroll to Diagnostics and Engine Diagnostics.
From there you should be able to get active codes (will not show stored codes)
I found that doing this while the engine is running, you can then go down the road with the LBCU in this mode and it will refresh codes as they appear. Very nice for codes that are popping on and off like some I've experienced recently.

Same thing happened to my coach a while back. It turned out I had used the exhaust brake as I was slowing down to enter the rest stop and the exhaust brake stuck in the closed position. After leaving the the rest area, All the coach would do was 40mph. Suddenly, after a few miles the exhaust brake suddenly opened up and we were back in business.

Curious how you know it was the exhaust brake? I’m new to driving these things Class A diesels so only wondering.

It was the only thing that made sense to me at the time. Loss of power while leaving the rest area, no codes, and then suddenly it corrected itself and I had full power.
After the recovery, I did not use the exhaust brake and no more problems with lack of power. That evening I removed the bedroom floor, and tried to move the PACbrake and found it very stiff. I applied PACbrake oil and presto, it was working again! No more problems after that with my yearly lubrication while changing other filters.

Thanks for all the replys. The problem was a blown 5 amp fuse that shut off power to the turbo actuator controller. I guess just a fluke problem (rough roads, bad fuse, etc. don't know why it blew.) But no further problem with that during return trip from Williams, Az. to Kannapolis, NC.

Thanks!
Pretty sure I know the row of 4 or 5 fuses where it will be.
