While climbing Raton Pass my stop engine light came on. Temps and pressures were all normal and engine restarted right away and I was able to finish the climb. The ECM was just reprogrammed and turbo campaign completed at Rocky Mountain Cummins days before this happened. I climbed Raton last year (before ECM reprogrammed) just fine. Any ideas?

Check for low coolant.

Low coolant in the overflow tank is the likely reason. On a steep grade the coolant sloshes away from the sensor and it signals low coolant. That in turn causes the Engine Check light to come on.

I am also in the low coolant camp. If you do not have a see through expansion tank, do not rely on the glass viewer to determine the coolant level. When the engine is cold, take off the expansion tank cap and put something in the tank to see where the coolant level really is. I use a straightened wire coat hanger.
