Cummins dropped the ball on this series and unfortunately did not adequately support the RV owners of the ISX engine. I am unsure how much it would have cost Cummins to pick up more of the cost of repair for us motorhome owners. It should not have been a major expense as the RV industry is small compared to the OTR crowd. The later engine revisions have helped though.
Some trucking companies order 5,000 units at a time so engine manufacturers might have to balance their generosity by calculating the longevity of certain engine models.
I would say the majority of new coach buyers are much more concerned about the paint quality of their coach, the number of upgrades inside and the quality of the cabinets. The sales person will vouch for the drive train!
