3126 Fuel Filters(?)

Sorry... this may be listed already... I'm away from the Coach and wondering what the primary and/or secondary fuel filters would be for the 3126(?)... Just trying to order a bunch of supplies before I head back in a month and work on it...

Manufacturer and year of your chassis , will factor into your fuel filter part numbers.
Freightliner added the primary and moved ( changed ) the secondary filter on my 3126B equipped chassis.
Could you add that info to your post and maybe even your signature line.

My 2004 Damon on a Freighliner chassis only has the filter/separator filter mounted in the back in plain view. No other fuel filters installed.

You sure you don't have a smaller fuel filter mounted on the cat engine .

Ok well I guess the next question is ; Have you seen the filter location and is it similar to the way Freightliner mounted them on my 99 side radiator chassis?

Photo is of my filters , behind the pass side dual wheels , under the battery tray.

No Skip, I didn't get a chance to check that out when I was up there a few weeks ago... I can call a friend who works at the campground to go have a look and see if they are where you mentioned... Milton CAT is a little over an hour away from the coach if needed..

Finding the existing filters and getting their make and numbers would be the easiest route.

No other filters; I followed the line from the water separator/filter to the block, nothing.

primary WIX 33783 (water separator)
Secondary WIX 33626

Great filters secondary is a bugger to change. Listen to ADEPT APE video on these filter changes and do what he says not what the book says.

In this help, there is a site where I was shopping before. They are great at communication. You can find all kinds of caterpillar filters and machine parts. Good luck with.

Your primary is a 2 micron and your secondary is a 6 micron.

Shouldn't the secondary be the finer filter?

On my 2000 freightliner with a 3126b, my water separator is a 10 micron and the final filter, which is mounted on motor, is a 2 micron.

Also, I use cat filters, because I grew weary of the confusion at auto parts stores on the micron ratings.

My primary is a 15 micron Raycor filter and water separator. The secondary is a Cat 2 micron filter. The 2 micron is the one last in line and closest to the engine.

My 2001 36DL Journey with a Cat 3126b takes the following filters:
- Primary: FleetGuard FS1242-B (installed at Freightliner)
- Secondary: Caterpillar 1R-0751 (confirmed with Cat dealer and manual)
