Best place to buy MP-8 Chip

Thinking of purchasing MP-8 chip for my 06 Fleetwood Excursion 350 Cat, found them for $401, but want to make sure I have good tech support, suggestions on source to buy from.

I'm putting Aero muffler on this week, I'll be putting approx. 8000 miles in the next 6 months and hope to recover some of the cost in fuel savings, from what I've read here.

$401 sounds like a good price. When I purchased mine last year I bought it at Christmas time and received an additional 10% off ($371). thoroughbreddiesel.com is where I purchased mine. Make sure to read ALL the instructions and TURN OFF your ENGINE batteries prior to the installation. After you have completed the install turn your battery bank back on. This will reset the ECM.

If you install the Aero muffler yourself make sure all connections are tight. I had a problem with the exhaust falling off at the turbo. This was a factory problem. I had a 4" band clamp after the turbo and I added a 4" muffler clamp around it to prevent the exhaust from sliding off. Here is what Freightliner's cure was. I elected not to add set screws and simply put another clamp around the entire connection. http://www.fcocrv.org/archived_files..._bulletins.htm

I have installed all three mods on mine and I am happy with the performance gained, not much difference in mileage though. It will differently wake up your CAT and have a lot more pep from a dead start.

Good luck!

MP 8

Were you able to install this from the access under the bed or did you have to get under the coach, also is the wire for the adjustment knob long enough to reach the cab?

Yes, I was able to install from the rear bedroom access panel. No, the cable is not long enough to run to the cab. There is an extension cable available to run to the cab. Since most people recommend only running the MP-8 at 15%, or half way on the rotory switch, I mounted mine in the nearest outside compartment. Still have access to it if needed.

I can already hear your next question.....why only 15%? Although your engine maybe able to handle the extra torque and HP, your Allison may not. Therefore it is recommended to only run at 15%.

Good luck!

Bought my MP-8 on EBay last year and paid $425 with free shipping. I had a local Diesel performance shop that also is an authorized Allison dealer install it .

I spent time today (9/19/11) checking out prices on the net for the MP8 and $401 including shipping was the best I found at thoroughbred (SP?). The seller was recommended by another member.
Safe travels

Brazel's is the best place to buy it. Because the service that tey offer if you run into a problem is worth the extra $20.00 that you might pay for, hands down Brazel's they know they're sh$$$$t when it comes to rv's. Joe

Also if you buy any TS Performance item for less then the "recommended" MSRP price points of TS Performance they will NOT warranty their product. deSanford

If you are looking for both, call Brazel's RV Performance and they will hook you up!
