C12 Ollie analysis

Had my oil checked recently at a CAT dealer. My sodium level came back at 38 and all other levels including potassium, which was 5, were considered normal. The oil is Shell Rotella T6 with around a 7000 mile run. The CAT dealer indicated “No Action Required “ but.... What can be causing the high sodium. Thanks and happy thanksgiving.

Sodium can be an additive, or water. Not necessarily radiator coolant. Condensation? 38 is not a reading to be concerned about, unless it continues to climb.

I'd monitor over the next few oil changes, and confirm it's remaining relatively constant...
