C7 air filter issues

Afternoon all, I read the previous post on replacing the air filter and the pictures helped out immensely. It only took me 15 min. once I rounded up the right tools. I just purchased the coach and hit the air reset at the beginning of the trip and it was red by the end of the trip, approximately 1400 miles. The coach I feel got ****** mileage, maybe 8. So I took the old one out and it doesn't look that bad, except were the paper looked to be trying to sucked out by the bottom! A, isn't that the wrong way of air flow and B, what communist bastard decided to put it in that awful location.

The filter number from the old one is: Fleetguard 9103-0505260739 (AH1104) Bothe openings are 6" and the unit measures appro. 25"3/4

I called freightliner and gave them the last 6 of the vin and they quoted me FAR 094973007.

NAPA quoted me Wix 42818 and Baldwin PA4653.

[moderator edit], My head is going to explode, so I figured before it does let me ask those that have gone before me. It is on an 04 newmar dutchstar 40.
Thanks, Josh

mia culpa

Just going over the process in my head, again. Yes, the coach was sitting for a long time in the desert, could be why the filter split and started tearing into the intake. Fortunately filter is still intack. Josh

dportem, I replaced the air filter on my Cat C7 about 3 months ago. I got the NAPA Gold filter part# 6748. Check and see if this is the right filter for your C7. I don't see why it wouldn't be it works on mine.
