After Cleaning a radiator on a Tiffin with C-7 Cat

After the access hatch was cut on the top of the fan shroud, I was able to give a thorough cleaning with dawn and simple green extreme. Also now I can change fan hub bearings without pulling the radiator and CAC cooler. Thanks to the members I spoke with that had this the same. The hatch door will be 14" long and 9 " wide.

Do you mind sharing what the approximate part cost of the alternator and the AC compressor is?

I just purchased a brand new A/C compressor from a local Freightliner Truck Center in Kingman AZ and, out the door it was $217.00. I had to remove the air cleaner intake pipe that attaches to the air cleaner and the turbo. And even then, I still had to remove many of the bed parts to gain access to some of the A/C line nuts from the top side. Not a fun job.

The Alternator was $219 and the AC compressor was $279, I also changed the belt tensioner (179) and 2 idler pulleys. And both belts, next up is fan hub bearings.

I also changed entire tailpipe assly from muffler outlet back. And the CAC 3 inch X 22" angle pipe, and all rubber boots on CAC and turbo and new bands and clamps. This girl is 15 years old and all the parts I changed was original from new. It has 79,000 miles on it. Last year, both thermostats, all water hoses on engine where changed along with 4 new air bags and both fan belts changed along with air filter. Oh and I also changed the Inverter/Charger. All this with help of good friends that are mechanically inclined!
