Cat 3126 leak

Cat 3126, looks like its leaking from the small tube entering just next to the starter? Easy fix? Seal?

Just next to the starter ???

Dip stick tube ?

Hope it's not rusted through , removing tube from the block can be a nightmare .

Haven't looked at it close enough yet... didn't even notice if that was the dipstick tube.

Just saw some oil on the outside of the oilpan and that seemed to be the source...

Why is it a nightmare to correct?

Dipstick tube is a press fit into the block ; not being fully pressed in to a " neck " on the tube is the main reason dipstick calibration is so often required .
If the tube breaks off during removal , then the pan has to be dropped to extract the remainder .

EDIT: This pdf on the 3126B shows the route of the dipstick tube with the starter removed .

Well, that’s it… will look at it over the weekend. Hopefully something “simple” that can be fixed externally…

Owning an RV is very similar to a rolling restoration with a classic car
