Cat 3126 where to buy water pump?

Looking to buy a spare as parts supplies are low. 2000 Winnebago with cat 3126.

I see these things for sale all over the places, prices all over the place. Remanufactured units from $150, new from $200-400.

What should one of these go for, and whats a reliable source to buy from?

You can get a Reman Pump from Caterpillar. https://parts.cat.com/en/catcorp

If you shop around for the cheapest price you sometimes end up with Chinese made junk. Why take a chance on such an important part?

Don't see prices on there?

If its like a car pump, a rebuild is 2 bearings and a seal... would suspect a rebuild is pretty straight forward?

Any thoughts on rebuild kits?

If you're considering carrying a water pump as a spare , get a by-pass hose too , about the only way to change the by-pass hose is with the water pump or removing the regulator housing from the cylinder head .

That was only a link to the parts store.
Once there you enter your engine serial number to get to the specific parts your engine uses. To get pricing you (usually) need to register on the site (free) and select the CAT store in your area, then you can see the pricing.

I'm looking at parts.Cat and the prices are in the ball park of what you have found. The difficulty is after plugging in my serial # they have 6 different pump configurations that could possibly match my 3126E. Apparently Cat doesn't know by serial # that my motor was installed in a pusher.

Another problem is Cat has a $180 or more core deposit when buying a reman. Might as well buy new for a spare.

Serial number and a Arrangement number are needed to make sure you get correct parts.

Learn something every day. Arrangement number makes perfect sense. I will find and add it to my profile.

Thank you for the lesson!

Have looked everywhere and can't find an arrangement number for my motor? Also, on the Parts.Cat website I can't find a location to enter the arrangement number? I'm batting zero here.

Give me your serial number and I'll see if I can pull it up.

A Caterpillar (as in Caterpillar Corp) reman (not a "replaces .... from unknown manufacturer/unknown quality) would be my choice. And, absolutely replace that short hose at the same time.

Also a good time to flush and replace coolant.

Happy to have the ARR number for my motor. Not sure how to apply it but knowledge is golden. It will help assure a parts guy gives me the correct part when the time comes.
