Could be fuel problem. How long since fuel fill up? Gelled fuel, water, ect. High pressure fuel pump could be failing. Rook

How long has it been since you changed your oil? The injection pump on Cat engines needs clean oil in order to work properly. I change my oil once a year whether it needs it or not. If you have over 10,000 miles on an oil change I would change it now. If the oil isn't changed regularly the injection pump could fail and could take out one or more injectors when it fails. It gets real expensive real quick.

I don't know if the C-9 is similar to my C-7 but on my C-7 there is a small lift (fuel) pump on the side of the HEUI pump and mine failed leaving me standed once. I had to take it to CAT to have it diagnosed. You may need to take it to a CAT shop and have them run the tests. Good luck.
