Engine brake stopped working. '03 Discovery

2003 Discovery with 330 Cat and Allison transmission. Picked up the coach from storage (6 weeks) and the engine brake is not working. The indicator lights up on the instrument panel like normal even though it is not working. Any ideas of what to check?

Mine stopped working and I found the air hose into the PAC Brake had melted through due to the placement of the hose next to the engine exhaust. Found it by engine access from under the bed. I have the same engine. Part was only $32 bucks I believe. My light was working too.

I discovered that a wire had pulled out of the back of the engage and disengage switch on the dash. The transmission did down shift but the exhaust brake did not close. I removed the instrument dash back and found one wire that had slightly pulled out of the switch. I pushed the wire back in and all is well.

In my investigation I lubricated the exhaust bake valve and air cylinder with the high temperature silicone oil.

Safe travels and THE JOY IS IN THE RIDE

I also lost my engine brake coming from Branson Missouri to Dallas, looking down from the top of the engine I saw a hose that had slipped off. Put it back on and everything worked fine. I have a friend with a 37 foot Tradewinds his was stuck open and they charged him about $1000 to repair it. As he said he could have done it a lots cheaper himself.
Oh, the love of owning a black hole !!!! Happy Trails.in him and him and
