Had my fuel filters changed today on my C7 engine, after I got home I looked at the filters and the secondary filter is not a cat. It is fleetguard #014L/1ff4783. Is this a suitable subsitute and will it last 1 year?

Fleetguard is a top line filter. As long as it is the correct filter comparable to the CAT filter it replaced, you should have no difference in filtration or length of service interval.

Good Luck - Glenn

Glenn is correct, you will be fine. CAT did filtration tests on all of the major fuel filters, and Fleetguard was the only filter that came even close to the same quality as those manufactured by CAT.

I carry spare fuel & oil filters on board the coach and use them when I do my PM every year. I then pick up replacement spares from CAT.
