Fuel drip from priming pump shaft

I had my dutch star w. 3126B serviced recently, including fuel filters and oil/filter change.

Since then I noticed an occasional dripping of fuel from the priming pump shaft. Also, there is around 2 inches of the shaft exposed beyond the body of the pump. I don't recall that being the case before I brought it in but I can't push the knob in any further.

I was thinking maybe I would try using the water separator to drain off some fuel and try pushing the knob in further. Should turning the knob clockwise lock the shaft in place? As is it just spins.

We're leaving for a 3 month trip shortly and I'd like to get this resolved.

Sounds like the pump shaft is not seated. On mine, it will get very hard to pump, but I can still get the shaft to fully retract into the pump, then I can turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

I'd try turning it counter clockwise several times and them push hard to seat the shaft into the pump housing. When seated, turn clockwise to lock in place.
