Letter From Ring Power Caterpillar- No More RVs

I just got a letter from Ring Power Cat, the local Caterpillar dealer, that they are discontinuing service on RVs and over the road trucks to concentrate on off road, generators and such. They referred me to Freightliner among others.


This is not a big issue although they are just a mile from my home. The Freightliner dealer is also just a mile. I am guessing I can still get parts from Ring Power Cat, and frankly they are usually reasonable in price. I usually buy all my parts from Freightliner as they often have more in stock than Ring Power Cat did.

Too bad. Always depended on Cat dealers when having a problem.

I wonder if they are having problems getting employees.

I don't see any kids going into auto, truck and RV repair these days.

Not surprising since Cat has again left the RV market as they did once before in 2009. I believe their stated reason was the new emissions requirements - and there's a new round of them coming for 2029.
