Loss of power

Yesterday I took my 2007 Fleetwood Revolution 40LE out for a 100 mile spin just to exercise her after sitting for several months. I was almost back home when suddenly the check engine light blared and I lost power. The water temp gauge pegged out at the same time. Then just as quickly as it all started, I regained power and the gauge returned to normal. It did this a couple more times in a period of 5 or so miles. Any ideas on where to start looking for the problem?

Certainly sounds like an electrical problem.

Did you happen to notice your battery voltage (dash gauge should be chassis battery) when this happened?

I lost power very briefly once. Cleaned the Chassis battery terminals and tightened a slightly loose nut on the ground terminal and never happened again.

I didn’t notice. I haven’t cleaned the radiator yet this year, and we live in a dusty part of the country. Will be checking that out as well.

My concerned would be water temp probably cause of problem. Belt slipping or something locking up.

Have the engine computer (ECM) scanned for codes. It should have stored a fault if related to loss of 12V power or such.
I'm surprised you have a CAT engine in your Fleetwood.

A loose nut on the ground side will cause all kinds of weird, sometimes intermittent, problems.
