2002 cat ..need turbo replaced

Can anyone point us in the right direction to find new or aftermarket turbo for our motorhome? Ours has cracked and we've lost power.

You can just call Caterpillar with the engine serial number, they will fix you up.

Where are you located? need to know, there are several places that sell rebuilt turbos that will be way cheaper then one from CAT.

With your engine serial number, any Caterpillar dealer can get you the correct PN. Certainly for new and likely for reman as well.

Exactly what is cracked??

Call CAT get a price and serial number and then you can shop it. Personally, I find CAT quality and price pretty good. But there are a lot of truck supply places out there that will offer replacement parts. However, i will add that there is a benefit of going with an outfit like Cat its service and follow up if needed. Just curious, why do you think the turbo has failed?

It is not too difficult. Takes less than an hour. You can buy new from CAT for $4K, rebuilt from CAT for $3K, or a JM Turbo for less than $500 and free shipping. 1 year/unlimited mileage warranty. The JM also comes with the balance sheet, and installation gaskets.

Start soaking the bolts with a good penetrating oil a couple of days before trying to remove it.
