Where to Find a Rebuilt Engine

Hi! We are looking for a rebuilt engine - 3126B. How, exactly, does one start a search such as this? Patience, please! This is totally out of our league! We had a blown engine, and think we'd rather keep this coach, and get a rebuilt. Honestly, we don't have a lot of time left to travel; but, we plan to go out like Thelma and Louise, except, we'd rather be in our Home on Wheels!

Thanks in advance for your help (and, patience!)

There are RV salvage yards in several areas of this country. Just Google them and see if they have what you want. BUT, once you find one, how are you going to get it delivered, and installed, and what are you going to do with the old one?

Can you get the existing engine rebuilt? What's wrong with it?

Have you tried a local Caterpillar shop? I know they can get remanufactured engines and they can install them.

Try local independent bus and HD truck repair shops.

Hi! Thank you! Good questions you bring up. Hmn. No, our engine is toast. It was a runaway Diesel. Everything was fried.

Copart.com, perhaps there's a salvage rig in a Copart yard close to your location?

Believe it or not, look on EBay.
Lots of commercial folks selling engines.

How about a good used engine?
There are several motorhome recyclers around that should have what you need.
My last MH caught on fire due to the refrigerator, but the Cat engine was still in excellent shape.
I almost bought it back from the insurance company so I would have a spare, but my wife put her foot down to that idea.
Here is a link to the one that bought mine.

How about the shop. I have had 3 friends who just went through this. The shop took care of it
