2019 Fleetwood PA LXE 38k Trans Conn Error

Bleep bleep bleep.

After driving for nearly 1400 miles of trouble free driving back home, I get the trans comm error. It disengaged the cruise control as it should and I pulled off at the nearest area when it was safe to do so. I let the engine idle for a couple of minutes and then shut it off.

Waited a few minutes and restarted it with no errors. Drove another couple hundred miles and the low fuel light came on and disengaged the cruise as it should. This time the check engine light came on also. Pulled in, shut down and fueled up. Restarted no engine light or no errors.

Drove a couple hundred miles more and the trans conn error popped up the gauges were all bouncing and then died on their pegs. The coach ran and shifted fine. I pulled over and shut it down. Called Freightliner about 7 miles away and they said if it was running OK to just drive it in. Which, again, when I restarted everything was out, except now the ABS light was on. I drove the 7 miles and it ran and shifted fine.

The Freightliner tech has been at it for 4 days with no luck. I'm guessing it's just a connection or control unit somewhere but dang, I hate to have this as my first post here. Any advice or pointing for potential cures? I've read most of the j1939 posts, but most of them are older, I'm hoping since it's newer there may be something else that has came up. Thanks, Mitch

The gauges bouncing and then going dead indicates to me there is an electrical problem somewhere in the vehicle. That's probably why the trans had a communication error.

Not a lot of help, I know but when multiple lights and gauges go haywire, that's not a transmission problem I don't think.

It was determined that the 23 pin connector on the inside of the firewall was loose. 2 plastic straps and life is supposedly good.
