Yes it is still under warranty. I thought I might be able to do some quick checks before bringing it in 3 hours away.

Is there any indication on the dash shift pad of the manufacturer of the shift pad ?
It would be interesting to know if a shift cable that long has any service points ; for grease .

Nope, the cable doesn’t run all the way to the front shift pad. There is a unit mounted in front of the transmission that moves the shift cable. Don’t know who manufactures it.

Thanks for the additional info .
The Arens shifter , kb7uxe , and I ; thought you had , maybe manufactured by the same company .
I'll do some digging around .
If at all possible , a picture of the shifter on the dash and the under chassis unit , would be a big help .

Regular shifter pad. Notice it is in diagnostic mode and not showing any codes.
The shifter cable is about 2 feet long and goes into a rectangular electrical box mounted on rear axle.

I have been thinking about that as well and have not paid attention to it . The high idle is definitely off, and mh does not seem to be idling very high (650-750 rpm?). Any idea what the cutoff is?

Gdoubleoo; is your coach engine a Cummins 340 hp ISB ?
If so idle speed is a function of the Cummins ECM and not adjustable .
Idle too high , shift to drive would be an issue too.
I believe I've found the manufacturer of the shift mechanism .
Orscheln Products . ESAS ( Electronic Shift Actuator System )
Connection from the control module to the transmission can be either , rod or cable .
So far I can't find any info on possible adjustments or troubleshooting .
I had thought Arens ; a Curtis-Wright product , was the only available remote shifter for the 2100/2500 series Allison .
I'll post again it I find more info .

Thanks David for the additional pictures .
I believe the system to be , the ESAS , I described in my last post .
Info from the parts tag ( Yellow box I added to your picture ) could confirm .
I will keep digging for troubleshooting info .

yes that is exactly what I have. Transmission has 8000 miles on it, could it be that it is still learning on how I shift? I have heard about this before. Or maybe the mechanism / valve system that changes the tm from d to r is dirty from when it was built. I have changed the tm filter , and will try it again. thanks

Shift from neutral to , drive or reverse is mechanical .
Learned shifting; from driver input ( throttle use ) is the part of the electronic controls for up/down shifting once trans is in drive and moving .
EDIT: I do see some black over spray on the cable shaft , that might be an issue .
Only 8,000 miles has the shifting been like this since new ?

OK, I see my mistake .
I'll keep looking for any install, adjustment or troubleshooting info.
