Allison 3000 programming
I have read several threads about getting your Allison 3000 programmed.
I have a 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire 4032 with a 400hp Cummins ISL and an Allison 3000.
It shifts better and holds on inclines better in eco mode than in normal mode - significantly better.
This seems to me to indicate that my coach would benefit from having the transmission reprogrammed.
My question is - where does one go to get this done for an RV?

Any Allison dealer can reprogram the Allison ECU.
And, yes, in economy mode the transmission will stay in a higher gear longer than if in power mode. I use economy mode 90% of the time, then down arrow if I need a lower gear.
But, please tell us exactly what you want changed.

It just really shifts like crap in regular mode. It is like it has lost its programming.

My Allison 3000 series shifted very hard and harshly till I drained and refilled with transynd fluid
It truly made a night and day difference for me.

I agree, I had my Allison filters and fluid changed a few years ago and it made a big difference in performance. My Allison came with Dextron III so that's what I used. Even the normal temperature dropped by approx. 10-15°.
Yes, Eco mode is what a MH should be using, it's considered light-duty for an Allison compared to a garbage truck.

Did that a couple months ago. Had it drained, flushed, new filters, and 668 Transynd.
It runs a little cooler, but still behaves poorly in regular/performance mode.
