allison md3060 service help

Would like to change trans fluid this week. My md 3060 holds 28 quarts including the torque conveter. Has anyone done a complete change out in just one session. The thought of dumping a full transmition of $10/quart amsoil torque-drive does not set well. Has anyone dumped oil coming from the oil cooler return line until new oil appears?

I know that's how you do it in an auto AT, not sure about a 3060. You might contact hzjcm8, he's a retired Allison fluid's engineer.

Allison only recommends the two change method, nothing else, especially not the fluid flushing either.

I didn't like the idea of dumping fresh fluid either. I went a year on the first change just to spread the cost out.
