Allison trans jumps out of gear

So I have a 2001 Monaco Knight, been about 7000miles in the last 6 months with no problems.
Well my kid and I were on a short 125 mile trip and heard a hard shift shortly after that it jumped out of gear and wouldn’t do anything we costed to shoulder, no check trans light. I thought I had dropped ujoint or drive shaft looked under and nothing.. turned it off back on and we were on our way.. 60 miles latter we were in traffic and it stopped shifting down and high rpm like a torxconverter would do the. Check trans light came on we limped in into where we were headed turned it off back on no check trans light. So we were boondocking and were getting low on fuel so dropped trailer pulled out were and got fuel it never missed a beat then a week later needed more fuel ran to town check trans light came on and then jumped out of gear pulled over turned it off back on and we were going down the road fine..
ok so this has 42000 miles on it I do t have the push button pad but a shifter fluid is fine so where do I start? What could be causing this?

I build harleys and hot rods so know my way round certain things but at a loss here. Any help would be awesome .
I’m just a broke fire fighter so don’t have thousands to drop.

I know very little about transmissions of your vintage. Making a wild guess, (not knowing how much electronics are involved in your unit)....I wonder if the software, if any, (I assume there is), needs a reflash or update? Maybe that doesn't apply to your trans, just a thought.

Hi,
Get it checked out asap. Before you do major damage. I know you have checked the oil level. Did you check the electrical connections? When did you last change the oil and filter?

I'm not a expert for sure but my money is on an electrical or software issue.

Hope it works out for you.

Start here.
Allison Operator's Manual
Using the shift pad, check for any trouble codes. If any are found, call Allison.
