Any suggestions on an upgrade/replacement for a 545?

I don't need overdrive but I sure could use another gear. Would a move to a 5speed be practical? If I want to ad an engine exhaust brake I would also have to get a new torque converter correct?

Thanks any info.

I'll have to do that but I don't think they have an application that will fit an Allison. thanks for the suggestion. I hope they do.

One thing you might consider: Inland Truck Parts in Irving, TX used to convert a lot of motorhomes from the AT-545 to the MT-643. That doesn't give you overdrive, but it does provide a lockup clutch. I've heard good things about the conversion.

I'll check with them. I was just in Dallas but not with Motor Home. Broke a shock in my driveway(long story) so I, drove the car.

Thanks.
