Does your Allison transmission use oil?

2008 Tiffin Phaeton, 40' DP Class A motorhome, ISC CM2150 8.3L 360HP, 22,000 odometer miles
I started full time at the beginning of 2022 and so far have traveled about 5000 miles this year.
I checked the transmission oil level cold once and it was full
I have not tried to check it via the shifter panel but I plan to
Over the 5000 miles, I haven't added any oil.
The engine and transmission are very clean and don't appear to leak any oil
I've never has a car transmission that used oil and I don't know what is normal for DPs.
Do allison transmission normally use a little oil?
What is normal?
In January I had the transmission oil checked and both filters changed.
I have annual service scheduled, so will be doing whatever needs to be done to it.

In 12 years 50,000 miles , I haven't added any fluid to my 3000 series .

And you've just reminded me I'm due to service it .

Transmissions don't use Oil. But they can leak.

Automatic transmissions need to be checked at operating temperature while the engine is running. If it's full when cold it may not be the same at operating temperature.
Later...

Six years and 28,000 miles since I changed to Transynd. I finally added 1 quart last week not because the xmsn used it but because I have a very minor drip in one of the connections on the hose going to the cooler.

I never check with the dipstick. I only use the shift pad. I check it in the evening just prior to shutting down.
