I would not use it in my Transmission, TES-295 is a lot cheaper than a replacement transmission especially when on the road and the trip of a lifetime. Walmart sells a lot of suspect automotive products.

Allison has recently come out with a new fluid that is compatible with 295. The new one is TES 668.

Ya, look forward to Tom's comments on this vs Transynd.

With regard to this new fluid, if it's not on the Allison Approved Fluids List, then it's not approved for use. I would not recommend that you use it.

Up until about 6 or 7 years ago Ford Motor Company had their own approved list of Diesel Motor Oils that met Fords WSS-M2C171-F1 specs. Name brands like Shell, Mobile and of course Motorcraft their was also many other Diesel Motor Oils on the market that met Fords WSS-M2C171-F1 specs that was not on the approved list that were just as good as the ones on the list. Ford now claims as long as it meets their WSS-M2C171-F1 specs your good to go.

I anticipate someone (or probably several) are going to "yabut" this to death.
Opinions are far less important than facts, data, and the actual specifications. In other words read the label!!!

Your recommendation is only an Opinion if the oil/fluid has been formulated to meet Allison's TES 295 specs as all of the other oils on the so called list!

Your the Oil expert why don't you purchase some of the lower cost oil and test it then you will have the data and facts to make a true and factual opinion.

While I agree with what you said there is a big caveat in that if something were to happen by using an unapproved fluid the manufacturers may be released of any warranty claims.

Due to that and the high cost of repair I will stick to approved fluids which has worked very well for me, knock on wood and boy I hope I didn't jinx myself.

While their has been many challenges in the courts concerning vehicle warranties concerning fluids and non oem-parts the courts have always leaned toward the fact of what meets the vehicle manufactured specs.

I beg to differ, Tom. Here is a description from the Allison web site and a link that says the same thing:

On-Highway Fluids - Allison Transmissionhttps://allisontransmission.com/parts-service/approved-fluids/on-highway-fluidsOn-Highway Fluids*Allison*recommends that customers begin using an Allison Approved TES 668™ automatic transmission fluid. This new fluid specification will be available in the market beginning in January of 2021. TES 668™**

I am sure Tom’s comment was in reference to the Walmart Sinopec “295” post.

Not about the new TES 668.

If that is true, I apologize and ask that Admin remove my post. I'm one of Tom's and annual customers.
